Výstava v galerii UM se badatelským způsobem zaměřila na vyjímečně graficky zpracované knihy vycházející v edicích. Podrobně a na mnoha případech prezentuje diverzitu grafických strategií jak pojmout pro nakladatele několikaletou a často i stále trvající práci na sériích knih s podobným tématem nebo okruhem zájmu.
V naší instalaci jsme chtěli elegantně představit mnohost a vystavit v relativně malém prostředí galerie na UMPRUM co největší množství knih. Ve spolupráci se spolukurátorem a grafikem výstavy Janem Čumlivski jsme vyvinuli jednoduchou, ale rafinovanou skládačku z jednoho kusu kartonu, která nám umožnila během jednoho a půl dne nainstalovat téměř 700ks knih. The exhibition at the UM Gallery focused on exceptionally graphically designed books published in editions. It presents in detail and with many examples the diversity of graphic strategies for how publishers can understand the work that has been going on for several years and often still continues on a series of books with a similar theme or area of interest.
In our installation, we wanted to elegantly present multiplicity and display as many books as possible in the relatively small space of the gallery at the UMPRUM. In collaboration with the exhibition’s co-curator and graphic designer Jan Čumlivski, we developed a simple but sophisticated puzzle from a single piece of cardboard, which allowed us to install almost 700 books in one and a half days.
